Aghora, Sookshma Sharira and Manomaye Kosha

VV … This part is to discuss the relationship of Aghora face of Shiva to subtle vehicle or Sookshma Sharira or astral vehicle or subtle body and its relation to mind sheath (Manomaye Kosha) … Then also discuss its travel, which is also termed as Astral travel or Sookshma Sharira Gaman … Sookshma Sharira means the subtle body or astral body or astral vehicle or subtle vehicle which is present in each aspirant … This is also termed as the Linga Sharira

Linga Sharira means the subtle body which has the organ or symbol … And it also means the symbolic body of Absolute … In Islam, it is this body which was told as “Rooh (the soul)” … And the same Astral vehicle (astral body) is also a part of knowledge of Trikaya (Three bodies) of Sanatan Dharma (which as such is a term that includes all of the Buddhist lore’s) …

Manomaye Kosha means “mind sheath or mind body” that is present within each aspirant …

Sookshma Sharira or Astral vehicle leaving the physical body
When the Sookshma Sharira or astral vehicle exits out of the physical vehicle, then it is in an inverted position in relation to the state of the physical vehicle … Since mind sheath is the main component of the astral vehicle, so here even though the figure shown is of the astral vehicle, yet is also refers to the mind sheath …

In this topic we shall discuss the subtle vehicle, the mind vehicle and their relation to Aghora face

This mind sheath is also of a blue color and is also having the same sound of Ahum (I.e. Ahum Naad) …

Relation of Sookshma Sharira or subtle body and mind to Aghora

01 … The blue body as was shown in the first figure of this topic is the astral vehicle (i.e. the subtle vehicle or Sookshma Sharira) and the main component of the astral vehicle is none other than the blue colored mind body  (Manomaye Kosha) … But this paragraph does not mean that the subtle vehicle has no other components …

02 … When the blue colored (mind or subtle) vehicle comes out of the physical vehicle, then initially it is inverted in relation to the physical vehicle … This is shown in above figure …

And once the mind is already out of the physical vehicle, then it automatically straightens up and aligns to the orientation and position of the physical vehicle … But this straightening up of the mind vehicle in relation to the physical vehicle is only after the mind is fully out of and clear of the physical vehicle …

At the time when the mind vehicle “just about” comes out of the physical vehicle, it is inverted and is having a head to head contact with the physical vehicle as is shown in above figure …

As also, at the time when the mind is still coming out of the physical vehicle, I hear feminine voices like the ones which are listed below …

  • “Ohh, he is coming out” …
  • “He is leaving the body” …
  • And at times these feminine voices even state “He is moving into the beyond (i.e. Para) state … Follow him” …
  • And at times, these feminine voices even guide the mind vehicle with words like “Son, don’t go there … It’s not meant for you” …
  • Due to these and many other reasons which I have not told here, I consider all these sounds as the divine words of my own Maa Prakriti (Mother Nature) who is within me and is also the same Mother Nature within whose pure envelopes I have been resting ever since I was begun as a microcosm within the supreme-genius as is of the Maker’s Makings

Mind sheath relation to astral body

03 … Here we shall discuss how the mind sheath (Manomaye Kosha) forms the state of the mind vehicle (Manas) …

  • Each cell of the physical vehicle has its own mind sheath …
  • The entire corpus of mind sheaths (i.e. Manomaye Kosha of Vedas) of all the cells that exist within the physical vehicle, is the mind vehicle of the aspirant …
  • Unless externally interfered (by other entities of the macrocosmic creation) or internally interfered (by the aspirants knowledge sheath or other sheaths), the mind vehicle is of an exact shape and size as the physical vehicle at the time when it comes out of the physical vehicle and the same is also when the mind sheath subtly-travels the vast-vast expanses of the Maker’s Makings

What is subtle body … Nineteen parts of subtle body …

04 … Here we shall discuss the parts of an astral body (or subtle vehicle or Sookshma Sharira) …

When the mind vehicle is coming out of the physical vehicle, the vital air sheath (which means as the five vital energies or vital airs or Pranamaye Kosha) and knowledge sheath (which means as the Vijyanmaye Kosha) are also partly absorbed into the mind sheath and the combination of these three vehicles, is what forms the astral vehicle (i.e. the subtle vehicle or Sookshma Sharira) …

In totality, the astral vehicle has the following components …

  • The fourfold inner subtle organ … This is also termed as the causal sheath or causal body (i.e. Karan Sharira) … This can also be termed as the fourfold inner subtle tool or the fourfold inner subtle light … This itself is the Antahkarana Chatushtaya of Vedas … Within the Vedic and Yogic Lore’s, This is also called as Bliss sheath (within most Sanskrit texts, this has also been termed as Anandmaye Kosha) … This has the following orbs or parts …

Mind sheath (i.e. Manomaye Kosha) … This is of a subtle blue color …

– Knowledge sheath (i.e. Vijyanmaye Kosha) … This is of a very-subtle yellow color …

– Consciousness orb (i.e. Chitta) … This is of a subtle matt-white color when it is free of impressions (i.e. Samskaras) and when it is holding impressions, then it would be having the colors of impressions reflected within its matt-white base which denotes that the consciousness orb is still not impressionless (i.e. Samskara Rahit Awastha of Chitta) … When the person rests in inertia, then the consciousness orb has a blue hue and when that person is actional then the same consciousness orb has a reddish hue and when that same person is based upon utter-neutrality, then the consciousness orb has a white color … So depending upon what is the condition of an aspirant, is the color of the consciousness orb of the Bliss sheath (or causal body) of that aspirant …

– The orb of I’ness (i.e. Ahumkara) … Ahamkara needs no special explanation here as this is what has been discussed all this while in the current topic of Ahum Naad

The first listed orb of mind is the outermost orb and the last listed orb of I’ness is the innermost orb of the causal sheath … This is of the same deep blue color of Ahum Naad (i.e. Sound of Ahum) …

When the aspirant primarily rests in those desires, thoughts, emotions and deeds which are related to Apra Prakriti, then the mind-orb of the bliss sheath (or the causal body) is of deep blue color … And when the same aspirant primarily rests in those desires, thoughts, emotions and deeds which are related to Para Prakriti, then the same mind-orb of the causal sheath is of a very subtle white color … Thus dependent upon what is internally related to by an aspirant is the color of the outermost orb of the causal body i.e. orb of mind … As also, since most of the inhabitants of this world are only based in desires, thoughts, emotions and deeds that primarily relate to Apra Prakriti, so most of this worlds inhabitants would be having blue colored mind orbs … Plus for the part of the macrocosm within which this galaxy rests as of now, blue itself is the color of the mind and at the same time, statement definitely does not mean that the orb of mind is blue colored in other parts of the macrocosmic creation also …

So this completes our very brief discussion on the four fold inner subtle tool (or Anandmaye Kosha or Antahkarana Chatushtaya) …

Thus now we shall move onto the other components of the astral vehicle …

  • Five knowledge senses (or Gyanendriya) … These help in gaining knowledge and they include only the following …
  • Eyes (Chakshu … Sight) … This is not the physical eye as the term “Chakshu” is only related to the “internal-subtle organ of sight” … The physical-eyes are of an attributed-form (i.e. Sagun Sakaar) whereas the internal-subtle organ of sight is of an attributed-formless state (i.e. Sagun Nirakaar) …
  • Ears (Shrotra … Hearing) … This does not relate to the physical ears as the term “Shrotra” is only related to the internal-subtle organ of hearing … The physical-ears are of an attributed-form (i.e. Sagun Sakaar) whereas the internal-subtle organ of hearing is of an attributed-formless state (i.e. Sagun Nirakaar) …
  • Nose (Ghraanam … Smell) … This does not relate to the physical nose as the term “Ghranam” is only related to the internal-subtle organ of smell … The physical-nose is of an attributed-form (i.e. Sagun Sakaar) whereas the internal-subtle organ of smell which is being discussed here is of an attributed-formless state (i.e. Sagun Nirakaar) …
  • Tongue (Rasa … Taste) … This does not relate to the physical tongue as the term “Rasa” is only related to the internal-subtle organ of taste (i.e. the internal subtle tongue) … The physical-tongue is of an attributed-form (i.e. Sagun Sakaar) whereas the internal-subtle organ of taste which is being discussed here is of an attributed-formless state (i.e. Sagun Nirakaar) …
  • Skin (Tvak … Touch) … This does not relate to the physical skin as the term “Tvak” is only related to the internal-subtle organ of touch … The physical-skin is of an attributed-form (i.e. Sagun Sakaar) whereas the internal-subtle organ of touch which is being discussed here is of an attributed-formless state (i.e. Sagun Nirakaar) …
  • Basis above is a fact that within the grosser manifested organs which are of an attributed-form, are residing the subtler organs which itself are of an attributed-formless state … Thus the formless rests within the form when viewed from any inward path (i.e. path of self realization) and this is even when the form is resting within the larger envelopes of the greater formless itself … This is how it is eventually realized when walking the inward path of self-realization …

  • Five actional senses (or Karmendriya) … These assist in executing actions and they include the following …
  • Speech (i.e. Vaak) …
  • Hands (i.e. Pani) …
  • Legs (i.e. Pada) …
  • Anus (i.e. Payu) …
  • Genitals (i.e. Upastha) …

  • Five vital airs (or Prana) … These include the following …
  • Apana Prana … This is in a location below the waist and until the toes … It is of a red color and it moves downwards i.e. towards the toes …
  • Samana Prana … This is located in-between the waist and the diaphragm (stomach) … It is of a yellowish-green color prior the Kundalini Shakti rises up to the top of skull (i.e. the 7th plexus or Brahmarandra chakra or Sahasrara) and the same Samana Prana is of a white color when the Kundalini Shakti has already risen to the top of skull (i.e. the 7th plexus or Brahmarandra chakra or Sahasrara) … This is an inward moving vital air i.e. this vital air always moves toward its own center or in other words, towards its own middle point …
  • Prana Prana … This is of a bright yellow color and is the vital air by which the word Prana is derived in the first place … It resides in between the diaphragm (stomach) and the place where the shoulders meet the throat … This is a forward moving vital air i.e. it moves in a direction which if in front of the physical vehicle … This is a very important vital air as it holds the capability of becoming a vehicle of self-realizations …
  • Udana Prana … This is of a purple color and is located above the area of operation of Prana-Prana as was discussed in earlier point … And its area of operation extends till the top of skull … It moves upwards …
  • Vyana Prana … This is of a very light pink color and is located all around the physical vehicle (i.e. it surrounds the entire skin of the physical vehicle) … It moves outwards from the physical vehicle … This is the one which throws out the excesses of vitalities from the physical vehicle and thus prevents diseases due to excesses of any sort … When all the above stated Prana’s (vital airs) enter into (i.e. get mixed) with this vital air (i.e. Vyana Prana), then the aspirants can see very distant subtle worlds and their subtle-beings and if this mixing is incomplete or improper, then it can also lead to hallucinations of all sorts …

Above listed 19 parts make the subtle body (i.e. astral vehicle or Sookshma Sharira) … And the mind sheath is an intrinsic unbroken and main-part of the subtle body …

The astral vehicle is the one that consciously travels across the macrocosmic creation (or Brahmand) … The word Brahmand means the egg-like state of the Maker (Brahman) … That egg-like state is also related to the symbol of Shiva i.e. Shivalingam

And since the macrocosmic creation itself is the self-expressed macrocosmic state of the Maker, so it is also the “Vishvaroop Brahma” because of the fact that the creation is none other than the creator’s own macrocosmic state and due to this reason, each part of the macrocosmic and microcosmic creation, is none other than a manifestation of the same divine being or Parabrahman … This is the primary realization from conscious astral travel …

And due to fact that the macrocosmic creation itself is a macrocosmic state of the Maker, so macrocosmic nature is a living entity within her entire corpus and also is a conscious knowledgeable entity within her each lesser or greater part …

Those who do not respect her (macrocosmic nature or macrocosmic creation) for what she ever-is, lose their right to continue within her envelopes because just as she is out of you, she is within you … Touch one and the other cannot be missed out … This is also a realization through subtler astral travels …

Those systems which do not consider the aspects which have been listed above, are found to be none other than transitory ones especially when we consider the eternity of macrocosmic existence (Such systems just come by, stay for a while and thence are gone without even a trace of them, in the distant future) …

Aghora face of Sadashiva is the end stage of astral travel or Sookshma Sharira Gaman

05 … All knowledge systems which describe astral travelling, eventually terminate at the figure of Ahum Naad (as was shown in the first topic of this discussion, Aghora face of Sadashiva) … And beyond the state which is described in the earlier figure of Ahum Naad, there remains no astral vehicle because a much subtler vehicle(s) travels to those beyond states (since this is not a discussion on those subtler vehicles, so I stop here) …

Astral vehicle … Some other aspects …

06 … Just as the physical vehicle has knowledge and organ senses, so does the astral vehicle also have these …

07 … We only sleep because the astral vehicle  goes out of the physical body … Thus if this happens in an unconscious state, then it is known as sleep and if it happens in a conscious state, then it refers to conscious astral travel or astral projection (Sookshma Sharira Gaman) …

08 … Afflictions of mind shall be discussed in a later topic of “Mind sheath (i.e. Manomaye Kosha)” …
